hello to all!

ATP was intense! anyone catch ATP TV?? how bout that zappa gig??
anyhow, the 7"s will see further delay due to printing issues and some reconfiguration, but hope to have them out by january end. sorry for continued delays, but please do hassle distributors for copies - the copies we had we just for the our live events and for live events only, the run of the summerdata/in love and shade/august 7"s are not yet complete. we will get on this however.

2011 is already filling up for the crew - so stay tuned.

COLORED MUSHROOM AND THE MEDICINE ROCKS - S/T LP

colored mushroom and medicine rocks album is a collection of tracks released on cassette only early 2010. these mysterious synthesizer/drum machine/vocal ensemble pieces chosen are from "the sundial metaphysical center", ""sea channels", "at red frosting" and "arcades of morning" cassettes for vinyl release. mutated vocoder vocals mixed into toxic short "pop" numbers paint a a somewhat unsettling picture out of traditional pop conceptions and melt away and notions of what "form" in music can be considered. fast paced, pounding sequencer/drum machine blasts to melancholy glowing string sounds and everything in between, recorded live to two channel stereo and mastered to vinyl for definitive release, these are some of the best pieces in the collection making up new sides with new styles emerged once again from cleveland, ohio. recorded december 2010, in an isolated attic. limited to 420 copies on various blue, brown, purple and grey marble swirled colored vinyl (all shipped randomly) and includes an 11x11 double sided insert packed in high UV gloss coated jackets.

now might be a good time to talk about some recent stuff

new outer space c60s, j-guy laughlin cs, pearl drills cs, mark mcguire cds and cs and the last of the colored mushroom tapes have all left the wagon headquarters and are out of stock here. the "candy shoppe/cycle of abuse" and "lake effect snow/science center" 7"s are also gone from us. eclipse, hanson, mimaroglu, tomentosa, discriminate, volcanic tongue and more will all be stocking these new titles. next up are some tapes from: godfrey, corpse pimper, quiet light water gap, and pedalphile w/the great drought, outer space, moth cock, fragments, zach troxell, imaginary softwoods, hungry soul, field of hats, and hose beast coming later on. two emeralds 7"s - "in love/summerdata" and "shade/august" are coming for the mid summer heat w/a comp of some choice colored mushroom cuts on an lp coming sooner or later than those 45s. big plans for other vinyl 12"s for some non-emeralds related projects coming mid 2010 and into infinity! stoked for that!

quiet light water gap - "live at the delaware county VFW hall" c30. these dudes are starting to tap into some mega weird styles, like a REJECTED slowscan or something?? field recordings of dudes just standing there or like spray-painting a wall or something. like heath's audio autobiography for A+C building jams. better get this over to pringz for breky cause i know slowson will think the creaking floor boards are "raging super hard". sounds like somebody is trying to DJ a nursing home but nobody is there and the mixer works about as well as the one DJ's tiesto and road chief wrestled with all new years eve. this strange duo occasionally pop's up via shane mackenz to drop off a master or to blast mersh. i dont even think ive met the other one yet?? edition of 48 w/weird collage art on heavy stock.

synaptic foliage s/t c60 - the wagon debut and the follow up to his "astra" cassette, cleveland's young julian g. (perhaps better known as chief operator of clevelands cylindrical habitat modules label) is the promise for the future. on this release julian crafts gusts of cloud static and waterfall white noise into an epic c60 of slow motion memory loss. bleak layers never reveal what is hiding underneath. limited edition of 65 copies w/full color collage art on heavy stock.

Established by John Elliott in 2008, the Cleveland, Ohio-based Outer Space has since blossomed into a collective of likeminded artists, operating as a sort of laboratory for the development of an idiosyncratic improvising grammar with roots extending into territories including the kitchen-sink human/machine assemblages of 1970s west coast electronics, the utopian plasticity of sound posited in the golden age of GRM, and the perfected throb of Wolfgang Voigt's Gas.

Elliott, whose ascendant profile owes much to his work as a member of the neo-kosmiche trio Emeralds and sludge-rock heroes Puffy Areolas, as well as to live and recorded collaborations with artists including Sam Goldberg, Aaron Dilloway, John Olson, Wyatt Howland, and Max Eisenberg, will be joined on analog synthesizer for this performance by Jeff Hatfield, best known as half of Fragments, who manage a singular fusion of rust belt basement electronics and Schnitzler-esque cantankerous opacity. This is the incarnation of Outer Space represented on the recent "Stereo Constellations" cdr and the forthcoming "Lightyear Demonstrations" double cassette.

At a cultural moment in which many emerging artists are rightly charged with reliance upon facile nostalgia-qua-nostalgia, Outer Space represents a studied and graceful substantive engagement with the problems of retrofuturism. Co-headliners Telecult Powers, a Brooklyn-based duo who work in formats ranging from film, animation, and graphic art to recording, performance, and handcrafted electronic instruments do much the same, albeit from an entirely distinct angle of approach, mustering an aesthetic that diverts the self-conscious hermeticism of Coil, Throbbing Gristle, et al and the frigid, paranoid isolation of private-press outsider electronics a la Nik Racevik toward the shoals of an affable and fantastically baroque campiness.

For all this intricately wrought affectation, the artists known as Witchbeam and Mister Matthews never lose sight of the importance of sheer sonic heft and the maintenance of pathways to transcendence through discipline and focus, a fact attested to by their steadily growing reputation as one of the most truly stellar live units in the contemporary New York underground and by the mindbending epiphanies offered by their ultra-limited studio recordings and their recent collaborations with the likes of Grasshopper and John Fell Ryan of Excepter.

Local support will be provided by veteran fellow travelers Alex Nagle and Joe Lentini and a freshly minted electronics/tapes-heavy meeting of Ren Schofield and Chris Benedetto Madak, better known as God Willing and Bee Mask, respectively.

hello gang! some wagon releases that are already almost GONE from the epic no fun fest weekend. this is whats left. in about a week or so the blog will be updated with EPIC solo tapes by mark mcguire, (amethyst waves, tidings, and a few more) the public release of lilypad "capacitor" c20, and whats left of the the emeralds - "servant" cassettes from no fun fest. in about a month there will be another new batch including a skin graft/e.e. split c30, skin graft - "chernobyl" cd-r, (released to the public at last) imaginary softwoods 3xc20 + book, and the end all pedalphile - "wigger" cs. stay tuned!!

emeralds - smoke signals c38 - $8.00 ppd

this is an older favorite of ours, related very much to its sister cassette "servant" and recorded in the same sessions/zone/era. threatening tan skied paranoia on the a side track titled "rotating floor." as if the very ground you stand on begins to turn on you and you cant even grasp the simple laws of reality - gravity, air, vision. like your senses got bored with your mind and decide to play tricks on you. swashing guitar loops weave in and out of white noise modulating in buried filters with intense micromoog modulation. no resolution, just live with it. side b is sky music for time spent alone in a comfortable place you know well. brings a sense of closure to the downer a side. mister matthews says he leaves this one in his car and that it reminds him of the discreet music loops (the a side of "discreet music," not the b side) there are roughly 12 of these cassettes left. full color artwork of surreal reality created by emeralds ourselves, shot at dusk. black tapes with tan photocopied labels of the surface of mars. second edition of 100, nearly gone AGAIN.

david russell c16 - $6.00 ppd

now here is a true stoker. david has been jamming the cleveland underground before most, and this may be his first fully realized and widely documented release under his own name. this tape is pure dada surrealist ??????? "what in the hell is that fucking noise" ????? some more bonkers head anarchy of the highest order. if you had a shelf with everything in the world on it and you pushed one end up and left it to hit your floor, this would be the sound. kling klanging-metal junk-spring popping -uncontained screaming/tortured-soul/spiritual havoc that will leave you flipping this tape over and over. i challenge you to try and count the number of different sounds that happen in the first movement of this cassette alone. short loops covered in total confusion somehow contained and organized in only the way that davids mind could understand. when it came down to brass tacks and i found myself saying "no, really david, how did you record this?" i arrived time and time again at the simple explanation of "i worked very hard on this." i also came to find that i was completely wrong in my assumption that there was 132,978 different overdubs when i was in fact corrected and told there were nearly none (just a few percussive overdubs in the first movement.) what in the hell is delina thinking with this shit going on the basement when shes upstairs cooking dinner??one of the best releases ever to come out on wagon and a great honor. sold out from hanson almost immediately. full color art on clear tapes with hand watercolored/markered retro syle labels. ltd to 100 copies on the nose. (about 30 left as of 5/20/08)

lilypad - "andromeda cures the hypochondriac" c20 - $9.00 ppd

for some people, playing music is a way of killing demons and putting the bad shit behind you. its also a coming to terms with things that have come and gone. this is one of "those" guys. side a is a relentless unflinching wall of powerful low end square wave with some oscillator modulation and filter sweeping towards the end. side b is a lucid tribute to moonlight and sheet glass lake water barely shifting in the wind. layers upon layers of anti-sequencer (built by b-bob) and a field recording collage featuring none other than wyatt howland (dead peasant insurance, skin graft) on reel to reel manipulation and jeff hatfield (of fragments, data disc master gripper) helping me break sticks in the woods behind the park towers apartment complex on a hot summer day in 07 by a river. dedicated to bob drake. there are only ten of these left as of 5/19/08. full double sided color artwork on blue tapes with hand painted labels, wrapped in stamped tissue paper. no one is the same, limited to 102 copies (60 of which vanished at no fun fest and others at hanson records and hospital productions.)
